19th Annual Yonkers Riverfest, Year’s Biggest Outdoor Celebration, is set for September 10
Day of Free Family Friendly Fun for All in Yonkers Downtown
Yonkers will again be the scene of one of the year’s most popular events on Saturday, September 10 when the Yonkers Downtown Waterfront Business Improvement District presents the 19th Annual FREE “Yonkers Riverfest.” One of Westchester biggest outdoor celebrations, about 25,000 visitors will enjoy a full day of free entertainment, festive events and community spirit along the streets of downtown Yonkers and the waterfront starting at noon and continuing until dusk, rain or shine.
Plans are still being finalized but the highlights of the program will be music performed on outdoor stages by some of the New York metro area’s top performance groups (rock n roll, jazz & blues, latin and more); arts and crafts displays; international food; classic cars; children’s petting zoo; face painting; mini golf; street jugglers and musicians; raffle prizes and many other surprises.
Steve Sansone, Yonkers BID Executive Director, said: “Every year, we strive to present the best yet Riverfest and this year will be no exception, thanks to the support of our sponsors and the collaborative and creative efforts of our Riverfest committee members. On behalf of the Yonkers Downtown community, I want to express deepest thanks for their invaluable contributions.”
